INTRODUCING OUR NEW BLOGGER: LAUREN...

Lauren and I met last September when we moved into our student house in Epsom and started university together at UCA. Lauren was also on my Fashion course however she has now decided that design is not for her and has transferred to Fashion Promotion and Imaging.
She's like a sister to me, although there are times where I feel more like her mother! I thought she would make a great addition to the blog as although we may share similar views on fashion, we have different ways of styling outfits.

This is a picture of Lauren and I at Ladies Day during Epsom's Derby Weekend. An outfit post will be following soon!

I hope you will all enjoy our posts as joint bloggers on Along Crossed Paths!

WHAT I WORE: WEDDING BELLES...

Firstly an apology for my blogging break, Uni deadlines got the better of me!

Last weekend I celebrated my cousin's wedding and thought I would share with you some pictures including what I wore! It was a truly special day and I was incredibly proud of her, she made a beautiful bride!

What I wore... White embossed blazer - Zara, Baroque print teal dress - Zara, Black fold-over clutch - Mulberry, Black wedge heels - Topshop, Gold chain necklace - Topshop, Teal hair fascinator - Amazon.

I had such a lovely day in a stunning location, dancing the night away with Army officers and sipping a lot of champagne! A very glamorous occasion and just how I would love my wedding to be!

I hope you like what I wore!

GET THE LOOK FOR LESS: STRIPES AND CHECKS...

1. White cut-out dress - Alexander Wang, 2. Stripe leather jacket - Acne, 3. Monochrome check bag - Marni, 4. Tassel necklace - Saint Laurent, 5. White calf high boots - Jil Sander.
1. White panelled playsuit - MissGuided, 2. Stripe leather dress - River Island, 3. White cut-out bag - Vero Moda, 4. Cut-out platform wedges - Jeffrey Campbell, 5. Beaded tassel necklace - Dorothy Perkins, 6. Checked umbrella - Topshop, 7. Checked blazer - Topshop.

As some of you may have noticed I'm a big fan of monochrome! I either dress in black or white and like to then accessorise with pops of colour. That said, this trend of wide stripe and large checks was really appealing to me. However, as much as I love the designer buys in the top picture (particularly the Acne jacket!) I can't afford them, so I included how I would dress for the trend but on a high street budget. I particularly LOVE the checked blazer from Topshop!

Hope you like the post!

ACP LOVES: WANDA NYLON

Picture this... I'm mid duvet day, updating my blog and generally procrastinating from my uni work. Quickly scan over ACP's twitter account (@acrossedpaths) only to find a tweet from Wanda Nylon (@wandanylon) thanking me for the outfit I styled using one of their jackets back in January! This was lovely to find and really made my day to know that they appreciated my styling. I then wanted to find out more about their brand and their current collection. This has now turned into an obsession! I love their pieces! I just had to show you all!...
Above: Wanda Nylon's Pre-Fall'13 Collection 'Typhoon'.
What I love most about this collection is the range of textures. The mixture of quilted techniques with the shiny vinyl and clear PVC really compliment each other. I also thought that these animal/tortoise shell prints look wicked! Especially with the burgundy colours that they have styled the outfits with.

As my followers may know, I have a mild obsession with holographic/iridescent fabrics! You can view my Pinterest board HERE, to understand what I mean. So when I saw these iridescent bomber jackets I was infatuated!!! I am quite literally in awe! Also below are the transparent rain macs of which one I styled in my 'If I Was a Rich Girl' wishlist.

Wanda Nylon are an up and coming brand with a big and successful future ahead of them! Their aim is to make rainy days a fashion statement. Their designs are fresh and innovative whist staying ecological with 90% of their products made from recycled materials. Magazines such as Vogue, Jalouse, I_D, Numero and Elle have all featured Wanda Nylon. In my opinion this is contemporary fashion at its finest.

Purchase Wanda Nylon at FarFetch.com and Opening Ceremony.

Thankyou to Wanda Nylon for supporting Along Crossed Paths.

LIFE DRAWING WORKSHOP

Last Friday we had an illustration tutor from London College of Fashion come to uni and hold a life drawing workshop for our Fashion course. We have these every so often to help free up our hand and improve our drawing skills. We experimented with charcoal, pastels, markers, pencils and watercolours. The models wore various layers so that we could try drawing the different textures. The tutor seemed particularly impressed with my watercolour images.

 My favourite piece.

Hope you like them!

IF I WAS A RICH GAL: 3 OUTFITS I WOULD ADORE

I often torture myself looking at expensive clothing on Net-a-Porter and FarFetch despite not being able to afford it! I thought I would share with you some outfits that I have put together and that I wish I could own!...
1. Biker Style Rain Jacket by Wanda Nylon. 2. Suede Croc Panel Jacket by Philipp Plein. 3. Bronze Print T-shirt by Theyskens' Theory. 4. Leather Mini Skirt - Balenciaga. 5. Chain Link Web Necklace by Arielle De Pinto. 6. Large Metallic Tote by Stella Mccartney.
I am obsessed with this transparent biker jacket! Personally I would wear it layered over another jacket, either a dark colour or a vibrant colour. Also I think this Theyskens' Theory bronze t-shirt is wicked!
1. Beige Cape Collared Jacket by Maison Martin Margeila. 2. Scalloped Ballet Pump by Chloé. 3. Oversized Motif T-shirt by Stella Mccartney. 4. White Straight Leg Trouser by Burberry London. 5. Horse Hair Necklace by Bjorg 6.  Gold Pyramid Bag by Jil Sander.
I love people who dare to wear white in Winter. So you don't find yourself blending into the snow, jazz it up with this Jil Sander gold bag and this Margeila cape jacket!
1. Petrol Lamb Skin Jacket by Balmain. 2. Glitter Chelsea Boot by Opening Ceremony 3. Ombre Chain Bracelet by Luv Aj. 4. Black Wax Jeans by Helmut Lang. 5. Sheer Panelled T-shirt by Alexander Wang. 6. Chain Edged Glitter Clutch by Stella Mccartney.
This Balmain jacket is a stunning colour! I am looking into teals and petrol colours for my current design project at uni, I think they're beautiful. The glitter accessories dress up the outfit for a casual night out.

If only I could afford these outfits! Would love your feedback on my styling.

I LOVE: SKY FERREIRA FOR SAINT LAURENT

Heidi Slimane's photographs of Sky Ferreira for Saint Laurent's pre-fall 2013 are gorgeous! The black and white filter really defines the textures in the collection as well as Sky's beauty! Some stunning imagery.
